NYLT Camp (Mt. Diablo Silverado Council)

National Youth Leadership Training (NYLT) is a nationally recognized program for Scouts and Venturers who are 13 years and older and First Class rank or higher. Young men and women are welcome to attend this intense week-long outdoor experience centered on the concepts of what a leader must be, know and do to lead well.

NYLT provides scouts and venturers with the positive youth development skills they need to be effective leaders in their units. The objectives of the summer camp are to:

• Develop a youth’s confidence and knowledge in leading the unit program
• Learn the resources, skills and methods for effective leadership
• Share ideas with youth from other Councils
• Learn how to mentor and train other youth leaders

Requirements (varies by council/camp)

• Scouts – First Class rank or higher and 13 years or older
• Coed Venturers – 14 years or older, or graduated 8th grade and 13 years’ old
• Unit Leader’s approval
