Highlander Hike – California Coastal Cleanup

Come out and volunteer with the Golden Gate Audubon Society (GGAS) as we join the efforts of California’s Coastal Cleanup Day to keep waterways clean and reduce the marine litter problem. Learn about the movement and contribute to protecting California’s coast and ocean for present and future generations. Cleanup will start at Arrowhead Marsh and move along the San Leandro Creek and Bay.

When registering:
- When you press “Click here to register online”, close out of the “Log in to your existing account” pop-up, then proceed to register.
- The event is free and will display a $0 total. You will have the option to donate to the GGAS.
- You will receive confirmation after registering. This confirmation will included acknowledgment about Covid-19 waivers, but you will have already done it so you do not need to do it again.
Things to note:
- Bring binoculars if you want to catch of a glimpse of the numerous local birds, including the endangered Ridgway’s Rail shorebird. You may even spot a bat ray in the marsh!
- There is potable water and bathrooms at the site.
- There are plenty of tables if you’d like to bring lunch for after work, and a large lawn to lay down blankets for a picnic.
