FOR SCOUTS INTERESTED IN BECOMING DEN CHIEFS
WHEN: 2 Sessions; Thursday October 4th & October 11th
5:30-8:00 PM
PROSPECTIVE DEN CHIEFS:
Den Chief Training is being offered through these two sessions and is open to interested Scouts with 1st Class rank or higher who are at least 12 years old. Scouts must attend BOTH meetings to fulfill the training. Different material will be covered in each. Den Chiefs can then earn leadership credit for advancement.
PURPOSES OF THE TRAINING:
Be prepared to work with the Den Leader
Be prepared to teach, lead and be a good example to Cub Scouts
Practice running each part of a Den meeting
LOCATION: Council Office (10 Highland Way)
REGISTRATION: Contact your scoutmaster!
Troops are charged by council for the Den Chief Handbook, pizza and drinks, and the Trained patch. Troops absorb the cost, so training is free to the scout.
PIZZA AND DRINKS WILL BE PROVIDED!
DETAILS: Scouts on the verge of getting first class are welcome.
Scoutmaster recommendation required – any sign-ups directly with the council office or Mr Hauser will be be confirmed with scoutmasters.
Class “A” (that is “field”) uniform required.
The “homework” between sessions: Scouts (not parents) 1) to email Mr Hauser with the times the scout is available to be a den chief – days and hours, and 2) to phone Mr Hauser with their “plan” of opening activity, joke, skit, song, and game and 3) bring whatever they need for their “plan” to the second session.
Adults are needed to help with the training – those who helped last year were VERY useful and had a good time working with the scouts.
