CA Coastal Cleanup – Creek to Bay Day

Come join Piedmont Council Scouts for the 40th anniversary of this amazing event that celebrates our commitment to our earth and makes a real impact! We will be working with the Friends of Sausal Creek during their Dimond Park/Dimond Canyon cleanup.
Please complete the RSVP and waiver through Friends of Sausal Creek (both are required for participation). Participants will meet at the Scout Hut (viewable with Google maps link – 3860 Hanly Rd, Oakland, CA 94602).

Over the years in California 1.6 million volunteers have helped to keep our waters clean; they’ve diverted over 26 million pounds of trash! This annual event has become a national and international movement, providing data to help influence environmental policy. In example, plastic bags used to be the 5th most common type of trash collection; however, after the CA ban on plastic bags in 2016, they quickly fell out of the top 10.
