Piedmont Community Service Crew Update
Although we are all sheltering in place, members of Piedmont Community Service Crew have worked out a system where we are still helping the multitude of our broader community who need help just getting a meal. Crew events are set up a few times each month where our members and their families sign up to cook a portion of a dinner for 35 to 75 people. Some of our members pick up from our cooks and deliver to a central distribution point, and just a few volunteers don masks & gloves to make up dinner boxes to go and then hand them out. All this is done while keeping apart, and maintaining careful sanitation practices.
Grace Davies says “During this time, it’s been hard to find ways to do that safely, but cooking from my home has been the most successful way I have done so. Knowing that something I’m doing has a direct impact on those in need has motivated me to continue participating in these events.”

Now is a great time to register in PCSC: get familiar with the members and how we interact so that when the quarantine eases up you’ll be eligible to participate in all the major projects and fun events that we’ve put on our back burner!
