Order of the Arrow Spring Ordeal 2024
The Hungteetsepoppi Lodge, our council’s Order of the Arrow lodge, was pleased to recognize 4 new Vigil members: Rob Kobal, Lisa Gros, Arun Brahma, and Kevin McKillop. At the last ordeal, the lodge also welcomed 13 new members. They completed their “ordeal” at Camp Augusta, which included a day of service.
These candidates had a day to think about what scouting means to them and how service to others can be a part of their journey.
The Lodge has a longstanding relationship with Camp Augusta. The candidates and lodge members at Camp Augusta were able to replace a bridge over a creek that lodge members had originally built 21 years ago. We also built a protective railing around a raised platform, planted some thorn-less blackberries, and built improvements at their ropes course. Families will be able to enjoy the new structures at camp this summer.
Our new members include Samantha Pell and Sasha Liu from Troop 1; Sasha Vorobiev from Troop 4; Rocco Doubrava from Troop 6; Troy Alering, Ethan Alering, Colin Amen, Kajsa Benson, and Gus Leonard from Troop 11; Diego Branneria, Adelina Mbise, Gabriel Barbosa-Topete and Maria Topete from Troop 15.
We also want to congratulate four lodge members who earned their Vigil honor, a recognition of their years of service to the lodge. These individuals can be counted on to pitch in when asked and have demonstrated the spirit of Cheerful Service consistently over the past several years. Congratulations to Lodge Chief Arun Brahma, Scoutmaster Rob Kobal from Troop 11 and former Lodge Chief Kevin McKillop and Lisa Gros from Troop 6.
The Order of the Arrow is Scouting’s Honor society, and supports the Piedmont Council, the Troops and the Packs. Piedmont’s Lodge was established in 1951.
The Lodge provides opportunities for scouts to engage in service to the council and the community, and provides leadership opportunites and fellowship outside of their units. For More Information: Order of the Arrow Hungteetsipoppi Lodge
