Scouts Help Clear Brush to Prevent Fire
Family units in Troop 6 took part in a volunteer opportunity organized by Wendy Tokuda this past weekend. They helped fill a dumpster full of highly flammable brush in the Oakland Hills. This work has been a goal of Wendy’s for many years. It is vitally important as it clears space for native plants to take hold and decreases the fire danger. This year-round work needs to continue to help decrease the Oakland and Piedmont fire danger that we see playing out across the state. Wendy hopes to offer larger volunteer opportunities in the future as allowed by County safety guidelines.
