2010 National Jamboree, Ft A.P. Hill, VA
July 26 to August 4, 2010

The 2010 National Jamboree at Ft. A.P. Hill, VA will celebrate the Centennial of Scouting in America. It will also celebrate the Centennial of Scouting in Piedmont!

Even though the Piedmont Council, BSA wasn’t formally chartered until 1921, the first Scout meeting was held on October 10, 1910 in Redwood Canyon. Read more council history.

When

  • From July 26 – August 4, 2010 (including tour, July 22 to August 7)

Where

  • Fort A.P. Hill, VA
  • The Piedmont Jamboree Troop will also tour the east coast for about a week. Although tour plans have not been finalized, they most likely will include Boston, New York, Gettysburg, and the Washington DC area. View the itenarary.

Who is eligible?

  • First class by July 1, 2010
  • Completed 6th grade or be at least 12 years old by July 1, 2010
  • 18th birthday not before August 4, 2010

What are the costs?

  • Nonrefundable deposit of $100 to reserve place
  • National BSA processing fee of $10
  • Approximately $3,000 per scout payable in installments between Spring 2009 and 2010
