Sporting Clays for ScoutingCouncil Event
Sporting Clays is a form of clay pigeon shooting, often described as "golf with a shotgun" because a typical course includes from 15 to 20 different shooting stations laid out over natural terrain. At last year's inaugural sporting clays event, there were nearly two dozen participants/supporters and the group had a great time. According to event co-sponsor, Allen Bouch, We had a great mix of experienced and novice shooters who enjoyed an exciting Fall morning of clay shooting before celebrating over a BBQ lunch feast. The event this year is open to adults for a donation of $300 and to parent / youth (13 +yrs) pairs for $500. They will offer professional instruction throughout the event which the Council hopes will draw new enthusiasts to the clay shooting event. Rod Brown, co-chair of the event, has been reminding Piedmont Boy Scout Council supporters, "This event is a unique and entertaining way to enjoy camaraderie with other scouting supporters and raise much needed funds for the local scout programs"
